Bovine Ultrasound Pregnancy Testing
Bovine Ultrasound Pregnancy Testing
Pregnancy Test Vet South Adelaide
Accurate pregnancy diagnosis is essential for effective herd reproductive management. At Willunga Veterinary Services, our team of ACV certified vets conducts precise pregnancy diagnoses through either manual rectal palpation or a rectal ultrasound probe.
Ultrasound pregnancy testing is typically carried out between 5 and 16 weeks, providing accurate estimates of the pregnancy stage during this period. It’s important to note that both manual and ultrasound-guided pregnancy testing become less accurate in late gestation.
Pregnancy Test for Pets Clinic
For optimal accuracy in staging pregnancy, testing should ideally take place between the 5 and 16-week stage. After 6 weeks of gestation, the accuracy of diagnosing pregnant versus non-pregnant reaches 100% for both manual palpation and ultrasound.
Herd results can be thoroughly analysed and discussed either on the farm or at our clinic. Once we’ve assessed the goals and herd results, we tailor specific programs to meet the unique needs of each farm. For an overview of the programs we can develop, please visit our Beef & Dairy Services page. Trust Willunga Veterinary Services for precise and tailored reproductive management solutions for your cattle.
