Routine Farm Visits
We routinely visit farms, farmlets and backyards to examine a whole range of species, including cattle, sheep, alpacas and goats, even the occasional pig. This comprises a clinical examination, and sample collection if required (for laboratory testing) and treatment. We can do many of the tests at the clinic. Generally we would start treatment at the time of the callout if possible.
WVS has particular emphasis on cattle work and we are proud of our reputation as one of South Australia’s premier cattle practices. We particularly service the Fleurieu Peninsula but also routinely visit farms around Meningie and the Lower Lakes and as far east as Tintinara.
We do not routinely see horses.
Our standard large animal service ranges from emergency calls for sick animals or obstetrics (calvings etc) through to specialised advice on herd health management, disease outbreaks and biosecurity and welfare concerns.
